We use dried shiitake mushrooms purchased from producers around Takachiho, Miyazaki, that are dice-cut in 5mm size by our unique method. Dried shiitake will be plump after 1 minute in hot water, or 3 minutes in warm water for you to use while cooking. Far-infrared drying technology leaves the shiitake rich in flavor and just right in texture. Enjoy in seasoned rice, soups, and other dishes.

In the 3 years it take for shiitake to grow, Tenpaku shiitake is named for its natural crack in its cap due to temperature, weather, and humidity. It is also called “Hanadonko”, or Flower donko because it looks like a flower. Harvest crop is limited across the nation and the precious shiitake is traded for a high price even now.
